●The Telaga Batu 1 inscription was found around the Telaga Biru pool (not far from Sabokingking), Ex. 3 Ilir, District. Ilir Timur II, Palembang City, South Sumatra, in 1935
●The Telaga Batu inscription is carved on an andesite stone that has been shaped like an inscription with a height of 118 cm and a width of 148 cm. At the top there is a decoration of seven cobra heads, and at the bottom in the middle there is a kind of spout (shower) through which the washing water flows. The writing on the inscription is 28 lines, in Pallawa letters, and in Old Malay.
●The writing engraved on the inscription is quite long, but in general it contains a curse on anyone who commits crimes in the Srivijaya chiefdom and disobeys the dātu's orders. Casparis is of the opinion that the people mentioned in this inscription are people who are categorized as dangerous and have the potential to fight against the Srivijaya chiefdom and therefore need to be sworn in.
●These people are mentioned starting from the king's son (rājaputra), minister (kumārāmātya), regent (bhūpati), commander (senāpati), dignitary/prominent local figure (nāyaka), nobleman (pratyaya), subordinate king (hāji pratyaya), judge (dandanayaka), head of workers/laborers (tuhā an vatak = vuruh), supervisorlowly worker (addhyāksi nījavarna), weapons expert (vāsīkarana), soldier (cātabhata), manager (adhikarana), shop employee (kāyastha), craftsman (sthāpaka), ship captain (puhāvam), merchant (vaniyāga), king's servant (marsī hāji), and the king's slave (hulun hāji).
